The Optimization of Savonius Helix Wind Turbine Cut-in Speed with the Variation of Blades-twist Rotor and Number of Blades

Wind turbines are typically classified as Horizontal Axis Turbines (HAWT) or Vertical (VAWT). VAWT has a superior ability to accelerate from rest rotation than HAWT, allowing it rotate the rotor even when wind speed is low; additionally, produced torque relatively high. Using Savonius helix one of numerous methods for enhancing performance. The effect number blades and blade twist angle on bottom end top cut generated by was investigated experimentally. Variations in used study included 2 3 blades, well 90°, 180°, 270°, 360° blades. In tunnel, data collected at speeds ranging 0 5 m/s. best performance research results were obtained With three 180 degrees, cutting 1.51 By modifying Helix design this study, possible increase efficiency turbines, mainly low speeds, potential using energy more efficient sustainable alternative source.
